Planing

The Scieries du Centre has a planing unit comprising a planing machine and a profiling machine. The planing machine can plane timber with large sections (up to 300 mm thickness and 500 mm width) and long lengths, up to 12 metres; the profiling machine is used to machine timber planks up to a width of 150 mm and a length of 75 mm.

This equipment means that the Scieries du Centre has a standard planed timber offer that covers

• Framing timber, with rounded corners
• Decking boards
• Posts with large sections (with or without chamfer)
• Chalet beams

The other sections produced by the sawmill come with optional planing.
